This online course on Preventing Workplace Violence is designed to equip employees with the knowledge to identify early signs of potential violent behavior and strategies to evade or mitigate potentially risky scenarios. One in every six violent crimes takes place in the workplace. While workplace homicides make the headlines… (homicide is the second leading cause of death in the workplace and the top killer of women at work)… other forms of Workplace Violence occur much more frequently. No organization, irrespective of its size or sector, can claim immunity from workplace violence. This course will cover the nature of workplace violence, its root causes and warning signs, aggressive behavior, threats and verbal abuse, sexual harassment, physical assault and armed assailants, promoting a positive workplace environment, and more.

Testing conducted during this online course is meant to reinforce the lessons taught. A minimum score of 80% is required to pass this course. Participants are allowed up to three attempts to achieve the pass mark. A comprehensive student manual is provided as a printable resource, which serves as a valuable tool for future reference and knowledge retention.
