The intent of this online course is to deliver a comprehensive understanding of the Federal Hours of Service regulations in Canada.
The online course “Hours of Service” is a detailed guide to the Federal Hours of Service regulations for Commercial Vehicle Drivers in Canada. It’s designed to help drivers and carriers better comprehend and adhere to these regulations.
- The history of Federal Hours of Service legislation
- The human body clock and fatigue
- When driving is prohibited
- Which vehicles the regulations apply to and which are exempt
- Logbooks and daily duty status categories
- On-duty limits and off-duty requirements
- Sleeper berth requirements
- Cycles, cycle limits, cycle resets, and cycle switching
- Special permits for various vehicles
- Exemptions for emergencies or adverse driving conditions
- Out-of-service declarations
- Inspections
Roughly 4 hours
Throughout the “Hours of Service” online course, testing is carried out to reinforce the knowledge imparted. A minimum score of 80% is necessary to obtain a certificate of completion. If the pass mark is not achieved, participants have the ability to retake the course twice. All required materials to complete the course can be accessed online.
Successful completion of this online course will enable the participant to download and print a certificate of completion.
