Upon completing the “Introduction to Biosafety” course, you should be able to:

Understand the foundational principles of biosafety
Identify the right lab containment and working practices
Recognize basic lab layouts, safety equipment, and personal protective gear
Understand the primary method for identifying hazards and risks related to biological materials
Know the regulatory requirements for biological waste
Learn the basic steps of spill cleanup and mitigation, medical treatment and reporting, and emergency response planning
Grasp the fundamental ideas of how working with biohazardous materials is reviewed and managed

Tests conducted throughout this online course are designed to reinforce the lessons. A score of 80% must be achieved to receive a certificate of completion. Participants have the opportunity to retake the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
