Upon finishing the Field Research Safety course, you should acquire a comprehensive understanding of the following:
- Discern the difference between your duties and responsibilities as a field researcher (this includes reporting occupational incidents, injuries, or accidents) and those of the principal investigator and team leader.
- Understand the significance of pre-fieldwork preparation, which includes getting the necessary medical treatments such as vaccinations, procuring required travel documents, compiling necessary personal protective equipment, and training for specific activities.
- Identify potential threats posed by fieldwork and strategies to prevent personal injury.
- Be aware of the specific risks associated with field research and the methods to counteract those risks, including the steps to take during emergencies.
