In a bid to ensure safety for CMV drivers and all road users, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has established regulations that every Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) driver must comply with. These include driver’s credentials, updated Hours of Service rules, log book record-keeping, inspection requirements, and necessary safety equipment onboard a truck and some Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) concerns.
