The digital Winter Safety Awareness course is designed to train workers on how to foresee, recognize potential threats and prevent hazardous situations that might take place during the winter holiday period. It has been observed over time that employees tend to take more leaves due to accidents that occur off-the-job than those that happen on the job. A significant number of these accidents happen during the winter season when employees engage in activities that they are not used to or haven’t practiced since the previous year. Thankfully, the majority of these accidents can be avoided. The Winter Safety Awareness course covers topics such as choosing, transporting and setting up Christmas trees, correct use of string lights, safe utilization of extension cords and outlets, fires, fireplaces and chimneys, candle usage, fire extinguishers and fire escapes, dressing appropriately for cold weather, working in cold conditions, walking and driving on icy roads and in snow, and more.
