This module educates you on the potential risks and outcomes related to sexual harassment and other forms of harassment at work. Our ‘Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Prevention for Managers’ course also includes guidelines about how to handle harassment when it happens, the elements of a harassment inquiry, the potential dangers of backlash, and the measures both staff and management should adopt to prevent sexual or any other kind of harassment.

Upon successful completion of this ‘Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Prevention for Managers’ course, you should be able to:

  • Understand what sexual harassment means, its harmful effects, and the necessity of a sexual harassment policy
  • Recognize instances of verbal, physical, and visual harassment, quid pro quo sexual harassment, digital harassment, and abusive behavior
  • Determine who is responsible in harassment scenarios
  • Understand the steps an employee, a bystander, and a manager should take when harassment is witnessed and/or reported
  • Understand appropriate behavior, rights, and procedures when involved in a harassment inquiry
  • Identify anticipated reactions and outcomes following an inquiry
  • Recognize instances of backlash due to harassment and discrimination complaints
  • Outline steps that employees and management can take to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace
