The Hours of Service Training: ELD Basics module is intended to equip drivers with the knowledge needed to skillfully operate ELDs and properly utilize the unique driving classifications of personal conveyance and yard move.
The Hours of Service Training Module 5: ELD Basics is tailored to educate drivers on how to properly use ELDs and appropriately apply the specific driving categories of personal conveyance and yard move. This course aims to make drivers aware of their part in minimizing unassigned driving incidents, the right time to amend the record, and the significance of examining the record before submitting.
Upon finishing this Hours of Service Training Module 5: ELD Basics, drivers will have the ability to:
- Elucidate when it’s mandatory for drivers to use an ELD
- Recognize the five essentials needed in the cab while registering hours with an ELD
- Detail how drivers can decrease unassigned drive time
- Illustrate the protocol to adhere to when their ELD fails
- Distinguish between coercion and harassment
The online Hours of Service Training Module 5: ELD Basics course encompasses the following subjects:

- Prevention of Harassment

Testing conducted within this online course is designed to strengthen the information delivered. A score of 80% is required to pass this course. The course allows three attempts to achieve the pass mark. Printable resources are accessible in the form of a detailed student manual.
