The DOT HAZMAT Safety Training online course is specifically designed for individuals dealing with and transporting hazardous materials. It has been tailored to the Department of Transportation’s HAZMAT Training regulation on the Handling and Transportation of Hazardous Materials. This is a unique feature of MARCOM’s DOT HAZMAT Safety Training course, and it offers the mandatory Safety Training stipulated by the regulation. (While this course is highly effective on its own, it can also be utilized as a supplemental resource to MARCOM’s DOT HAZMAT General Awareness course). The course aims to enlighten employees about the risks related to the materials they handle… and instructs them on safe handling procedures. The course content includes the regulation itself, potential hazardous materials that employees may deal with, hazard indicators like labels, shipping papers and placards, the application of personal protective equipment, appropriate handling procedures, strategies and procedures for accident prevention, incidents/emergencies involving hazardous materials, spillage and cleanup procedures, and more.

The DOT HAZMAT Safety Training online course covers the following topics: 

• DOT HAZMAT regulations and training
• HAZMAT labels, placards and hazard classes
• Shipping Papers and emergency response information
• Utilization of the DOT Emergency Response Guidebook
• Dispatching and receiving HAZMATs
• HAZMAT emergencies and exposure
• Et plus

Environ 45 minutes

Assessments are conducted throughout this online course to reinforce the information presented. A grade of 80% must be attained in order to successfully pass this course. The course can be attempted three times to achieve the pass mark. A comprehensive student manual is available for printing. This manual is an invaluable tool for future reference and knowledge retention.

Upon achieving success in this online course, a certificate of completion can be downloaded and printed.
