This course provides comprehensive insights into the function, operation, and diverse types of autoclaves, as well as thorough guidelines and safety measures for operating, maintaining and auditing autoclaves. With the Autoclave Safety course, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of:

• The primary function of an autoclave. 
• The mechanism behind autoclaves.
• The variety of autoclaves available.
• The physical and biological hazards linked to autoclaves. 
• The potential injuries that could result from using an autoclave, and the measures to prevent and treat them.
• The essential safety precautions when using an autoclave, such as wearing suitable PPE, regular inspections and maintenance of the autoclave, and conducting performance testing regularly.
• How to safely operate an autoclave, including how to correctly prepare, package, load, and unload materials.

Estimated to take 20 minutes

Tests are conducted throughout this online course to reinforce the information taught. A score of 80% must be attained to be awarded a certificate of completion. Participants can undertake the course up to two more times if they do not achieve the pass mark in the first attempt.

Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be ready for download and printing.
