The objective of the “Aerial Work Platform Training – Boom and Scissor Lift” course is to provide workers with the foundational knowledge required to safely operate aerial work platforms in the workplace.
Through this course, learners will gain a better understanding of workplace responsibilities, equipment safety principles, and hazard awareness associated with boom and scissor lift operations.
Upon successful completion of the “Aerial Work Platform Training – Boom and Scissor Lift” course, learners should have a better understanding of the following:
- The different levels of workplace responsibility related to aerial work platform operation
- Basic components and functions of boom lifts and scissor lifts
- Stability principles and factors that can affect safe equipment operation
- Safe operating procedures before, during, and after equipment use
- Fall protection requirements and best practices for elevated work
- How proper training and hazard awareness contribute to safer job sites

Students must achieve a score of 80% on the final exam to successfully complete this course. Participants are provided with up to 3 attempts to achieve the required passing grade.
Upon successful completion of this online course, students will immediately receive a downloadable and printable certificate. Certification expires 3 years from the issue date and is accepted across Canada.
