The aim of this tutorial is to bring about awareness among all employees regarding the presence of hazardous energy sources; the isolation of such energy sources during specific maintenance and repair tasks; and the communication and control procedures that restrict access to these energy sources via the use of tags and locks.

APERÇU DU COURS

The purpose of this Lockout / Tagout – Vivid course is to offer a basic level of training to all employees about the existence of hazardous energy sources. It also covers the isolation of these energy sources during certain maintenance and repair activities, and the communication and control procedures that limit access to these energy sources by using tags and locks.

Upon successful completion of the Lockout / Tagout – Vivid course, you should be equipped to:

  • Comprehend the rationale behind lock and tag procedures
  • Identify the duties of authorized, affected, and other employees during lockout/tagout procedures
  • Spot various sources of energy hazards and consequences of improper control
  • Understand employer obligations and requirements for lock and tag
  • Recognize different types of lock and tag devices
  • Identify procedural steps for lock and tag
  • Recognize when a lockout/tagout is taking place, and the role of an affected worker in ensuring the procedure is safe

Testing conducted throughout this online Lockout / Tagout – Vivid course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are allowed to retake the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
