This curriculum is intended to inform drivers, who are subject to FMCSA DOT drug and alcohol tests, about Clearinghouse mandates.
As of January 6, 2020, the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse has revolutionized the method in which motor carriers with drug and alcohol testing programs discover a CDL driver’s DOT testing history. Section 382.601(b)(12) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) compels motor carriers to furnish drivers with informational materials that illuminate the Clearinghouse mandates and the employer’s strategies and procedures to satisfy these mandates. This includes the categories of personal data collected and stored within the Clearinghouse database.
The “Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse: What Drivers Need to Know” course is structured to inform drivers, who are subject to FMCSA DOT drug and alcohol tests, about Clearinghouse mandates. Drivers will comprehend what information is supplied to the Clearinghouse, the procedure to rectify inaccurate data in the system, and their obligations regarding granting consent to the employer for Clearinghouse queries.
