This web-based Trenching & Shoring Safety in Construction Environments program aids facilities in adhering to OSHA’s rules and implementing secure work methods to prevent workplace incidents. In the U.S., construction workers account for one-fifth of all workplace fatalities, but when they are working within a trench, their risk of a fatal accident more than doubles. Every month, on average, two employees lose their lives when the trench they are working in collapses. By understanding the potential dangers associated with trenching work, many of these fatalities and a significant number of injuries can be avoided.
