built-in risks, from cleaning agents and compressed gases to chemical reagents and lab materials. Canada\u2019s Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is what communicates those hazards to prevent them from causing harm. WHMIS outlines how materials are classified, labelled, and documented so that everyone, from frontline workers to supervisors, can interpret risks and act safely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When workers are new to the workplace, or even the whole workforce on a wider scale, full WHMIS training gets them up to speed on all the ins and outs of the system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But for the workers who are already pros? Full retraining isn\u2019t always necessary or the best use of time. That\u2019s why we\u2019ve developed a WHMIS refresher workers can take in less than half an hour.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A WHMIS refresher reinforces employees\u2019 abilities to recognize hazard information, apply controls with confidence, and communicate safety data clearly when handling or working near hazardous products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9a5a61f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9a5a61f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 id='what-is-whmis'  class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What is WHMIS? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9e2c34c elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget-mobile__width-inherit elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9e2c34c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s go back to the basics. WHMIS is Canada\u2019s national hazard communication standard. It connects every product to the information workers need to handle it safely. You\u2019ll find WHMIS labels on things like:\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Propane tanks\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cleaning products and bleaches\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rust removers and descalers\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Degreasers\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Antifreeze\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aerosol lubricants (such as WD-40)\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"font-weight: 400; margin-top: 15px;\">These are just a few examples of products that use WHMIS to communicate their hazards at work.\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s also important to note that not every product uses WHMIS.
