While burying infrastructure keeps communities safe and organized, it also means that excavation work, whether digging a trench, planting a tree, or starting a major construction project can expose workers and the public to serious risks if utilities are struck.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This course provides a detailed introduction to utility line locating and marking procedures. Learners will gain the skills to recognize buried facilities, understand the one-call process, and use safe digging practices to avoid costly and hazardous incidents. Real-world scenarios, troubleshooting strategies, and safety guidelines help reinforce key lessons and ensure compliance with Canadian regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"title-bar\">Course Topics<\/div>\n<p>Participants will gain practical skills and safety knowledge in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Underground infrastructure and its importance<\/li>\n<li>Roles and responsibilities in the locate process<\/li>\n<li>Excavation requirements and one-call centers<\/li>\n<li>Locate requests, colour codes, and documentation<\/li>\n<li>Utility locating technologies (passive, active, radar, electronic markers)<\/li>\n<li>Equipment setup and use<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshooting, conflicts, and common errors<\/li>\n<li>Safety practices and PPE requirements<\/li>\n<li>Outdoor work hazards and weather safety<\/li>\n<li>Excavation best practices and tolerance zones<\/li>\n<li>Emergency response to damaged utilities<\/li>\n<li>Post-incident investigation and reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"title-bar\">Online Course Duration<\/div>\n<p>The Line Locating and Marking Training Online program takes about 60 minutes, making it concise yet highly informative for workers and safety professionals.<\/p>\n<div class=\"title-bar\">Pass Mark<\/div>\n<p>The pass mark for this course is 80%.
