COURSE OVERVIEW<\/b><\/div>\n

The DOT Cargo Securement course deep dives into the DOT\u2019s Cargo Securement Standard, its objectives, the obligations it imposes on motor carriers and drivers, and the measures drivers must take to ensure cargo stability during transit. Countless factors can contribute to a highway accident. <\/p>\n

Through extensive analysis of incidents involving commercial vehicles, the Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) found that improper loading and securing of cargo is more likely to result in a crash than any other issue. Hence, the DOT has formulated “cargo securement” regulations to provide clear instructions on how various types of cargo should be loaded and secured for safe transport. By utilizing an effective blend of audio, full-motion video, text and colorful graphics, the DOT Cargo Securement course delivers high-quality safety and regulatory compliance training in a cost-effective manner. The course is broken down into several logical sections for easy comprehension and retention. These courses are compatible with any SCORM compliant learning management system (LMS).<\/p>\n

    Throughout the DOT Cargo Securement course, testing is conducted to reinforce the information provided. A minimum score of 80% is required to pass this course. The course allows for three attempts to achieve the pass mark. A comprehensive student manual, available for printing, serves as a practical resource for future reference and knowledge retention.<\/p>\n
