The course offers detailed insights into the most common detector tube devices (such as bellows and piston) and various types of gas monitors (personal, portable, and fixed). This course aligns with IRP7 requirements and discusses explosive ranges, toxic atmospheres, oxygen levels, combustible substances, principles of flammable gas, vapor detection, and much more!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is this course intended for?<\/strong><br \/>The &#8220;Detection and Control of Flammable and Toxic Atmospheres&#8221; course is ideal for individuals who have to enter a workplace that necessitates the use of any form of gas detection equipment. This equipment is commonly found in numerous sites, including plant sites, drilling and servicing operations, pipeline operations, upstream and downstream oilfield operations, confined spaces, and more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 14.0px\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"title-bar\"><span style=\"font-size: 18.0px;float: none\">COURSE TOPICS<\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 14.0px\"><strong>Module 1: Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This initial module familiarizes you with the topics that will be explained throughout the course, what to expect, and the importance of this course for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Module 2: Detector Tube Devices<\/strong><br \/>This module provides a comprehensive introduction to the most commonly used types of detector tube devices and safe methods for their operation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Module 3: Continuous Gas Monitors<\/strong><br \/>This module extensively covers the three types of continuous gas monitors: personal, portable, and fixed. It also details how to safely wear, operate, maintain, and use this detection equipment, as well as how to perform a bump test. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Module 4: Combustible Gas Monitors<\/strong><br \/>This module provides a detailed explanation of combustible gas monitors and their functioning. Topics covered include thermal conductivity, semiconductor sensors, catalytic sensors, display features, equipment-related challenges, and measurements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Module 5: Fixed Continuous Monitors<\/strong><br \/>This module provides an overview of fixed continuous monitors, highlighting their roles and features.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Module 6: Gas Testing<\/strong><br \/>This module offers an overview of gas testing and how to use detection equipment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Module 7: Conclusion<\/strong><br \/>This module reviews the information presented in the course to prepare for the final examination.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Module 8: End of Course<\/strong><br \/>The final exam consists of 20 questions from a question bank and allows three attempts to pass. If unsuccessful, it&#8217;s advised to review the content before reattempting the exam. A minimum score of 80% is required to acquire certification.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"title-bar\"><span style=\"font-size: 18.0px;float: none\">COURSE DURATION<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-size: 14.0px\">Approximately 120 minutes<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 14.0px\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"title-bar\"><span style=\"font-size: 18.0px;float: none\">PASSING GRADE<\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 14.0px\">Testing conducted in this online &#8220;Detection and Control of Flammable and Toxic Atmospheres&#8221; course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A score of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are allowed to retake the course twice if the passing grade is not achieved on the first attempt.<\/p>\n<div class=\"title-bar\"><span style=\"font-size: 18.0px;float: none\">CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION<\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 14.0px\">Once you successfully complete this course, a non-transferable certificate will be issued to you. This certificate is solely for your benefit, acknowledging your successful completion of the course. By signing the front of the certificate, you acknowledge and agree to take full responsibility for the use of the certificate.
