Workers in the Canadian\u00a0<\/span>industry\u00a0<\/span>are<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>liable to be held accountable under Occupational Health and Safety Law. It’s the responsibility of the employers to communicate to their employees, the details of Occupational Health and Safety Law, and the importance of due diligence for workers. Explaining the functioning of safety laws can be a complex task, potentially leaving workers puzzled. This course aims to alleviate some of that confusion. This helps employers fulfill their legal duty of informing their workers about Occupational Health and Safety Law.<\/span><\/p>\n

Presented with animation and a dash of humor, this training stresses the significance for workers to comprehend Occupational Health and Safety Law. The backdrop is a hypothetical workplace, where some departments have a strong safety culture, while others \u2013 could do with some enhancement.<\/p>\n

Join Milo, the Lead Occupational Health and Safety Officer, as he navigates learners through the triad of safety regulations, and how they impact workers. Participants will grasp what workers need to know and do to be duly diligent. This course will not only help learners comprehend their legal obligations, but also those of managers and employers. The primary focus is on fostering a positive environment at the workplace.<\/p>\n

COURSE OBJECTIVES<\/b><\/div>\n

By completing this online ‘Due Diligence for Workers’ course, learners will be equipped to:<\/b><\/p>\n

  • Memorize three categories of occupational health and safety laws<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Comprehend the relevance of due diligence for workers<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Identify the responsibilities of others and the necessity for progressive discipline when needed<\/li>\n
  • Acknowledge the significance of documentation in a due diligence scenario<\/li>\n
  • Examine the rights of workers and how they can influence each other<\/li>\n
  • Choose methods by which workers can exhibit due diligence<\/li>\n
  • Identify different kinds of safety measures<\/li>\n
  • Understand the use of JSA data in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\u2019s), incident probes, inspections, and so on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Testing conducted in this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 75% must be achieved in order to pass this course. The course is able to be taken three times in efforts to achieve the pass mark.<\/p>\n
