COURSE OVERVIEW<\/b><\/div>\n

Unintentional fall-related incidents are the second largest cause of accidental injury deaths, with a staggering 650,000 cases reported annually according to the Worldwide Health Organization. These statistics are not just inclusive of falls from height but also highlight the risk of fatal injuries from falls at the same level. These unfortunate incidents often lead to injuries resulting in huge financial costs for both the injured party and the employer. Through awareness and proactive measures, both employers and employees can play a significant role in reducing the risk and consequences of slips, trips, and falls.<\/p>\n

COURSE TOPICS<\/b><\/div>\n

The Walkway Safety for Supervisors training course will address the following key areas:<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n

  • Module 1: Basics of Walkway Safety<\/li>\n
  • Module 2: Identifying Potential Hazards<\/li>\n
  • Module 3: Measures for Preventing Hazards & Responding to Incidents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Upon successful completion of the Walkway Safety for Supervisors course, participants should be able to:<\/b><\/p>\n

    • Clarify the distinction between a slip, trip, stumble, and air step<\/li>\n
    • Recognize and differentiate the two primary risk factors contributing to slips, trips, and falls<\/li>\n
    • Understand the impact of floor porosity on fall-related incidents<\/li>\n
    • Comprehend the financial implications of workplace falls<\/li>\n
    • Differentiate two types of frauds that companies should be cognizant of<\/li>\n
    • Identify prevalent environmental factors that escalate the risk of falling<\/li>\n
    • Recognize common behavioral factors that elevate a person’s risk of falling<\/li>\n
    • Summarize various proactive steps that employers can implement to prevent fall incidents<\/li>\n
    • Identify methods employees can adopt to mitigate walkway hazards at the workplace<\/li>\n
    • Suggest ways employees can contribute in preventing walkway hazards at the workplace<\/li>\n
    • Describe the appropriate response to a fall incident<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      This online Walkway Safety for Supervisors course includes multiple tests to reinforce the knowledge acquired. A minimum pass score of 80% is required to successfully complete the course. Participants are allowed up to three attempts to achieve the pass mark. A comprehensive student manual is accessible for printing, serving as a valuable resource for future reference and knowledge retention.<\/p>\n
