COURSE OVERVIEW<\/b><\/div>\n

This web-based Trenching & Shoring Safety in Construction Environments program aids facilities in adhering to OSHA’s rules and implementing secure work methods to prevent workplace incidents. In the U.S., construction workers account for one-fifth of all workplace fatalities, but when they are working within a trench, their risk of a fatal accident more than doubles. Every month, on average, two employees lose their lives when the trench they are working in collapses. By understanding the potential dangers associated with trenching work, many of these fatalities and a significant number of injuries can be avoided.<\/p>\n

The web-based Trenching and Shoring Safety in Construction Environments program covers the following subjects:<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n

  • The dangers associated with trenching<\/li>\n
  • The "competent person" and job site assessment<\/li>\n
  • Different types of soil and protective structures<\/li>\n
  • Continuous evaluation and testing<\/li>\n
  • Entry and exit points, equipment, and setback<\/li>\n
  • Adopting a defensive approach to work<\/li>\n
  • And additional topics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    ONLINE COURSE DURATION<\/b><\/div>\n

    The course is designed to be completed in roughly 45 minutes<\/p>\n

    PASS MARK<\/b><\/div>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Tests are conducted throughout this online course to reinforce the information provided. To successfully complete the course, a score of 80% is required. If necessary, the course can be retaken up to three times to achieve the pass mark. A comprehensive student manual is available for download and printing, serving as a useful resource for future reference and knowledge retention.<\/p>\n
