The items that cranes transport can vary greatly in shape and weight, but mishandling any of them can lead to serious accidents. Improperly rigged loads can be inadvertently dropped, begin to rotate, or swing unpredictably, creating dangerous situations for nearby people or objects. By taking part in this Rigging Safety in Industrial and Construction Environments course, employees will learn to identify the risks related to rigging and load movement, and be informed about the tools and safety measures they can employ to prevent such incidents.<\/p>\n

  • Selecting the appropriate sling for the load<\/li>\n
  • Different types of hitches and their uses<\/li>\n
  • Standard hand signals<\/li>\n
  • Safe methods for lifting, moving and lowering a load<\/li>\n

    Testing conducted throughout this web-based course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A score of 80% must be achieved in order to successfully pass this course. The course can be taken three times to achieve the pass mark. Printable resources are available in the form of an extensive student manual. The manual serves as a useful reference for future use and knowledge retention.<\/p>\n
