COURSE OVERVIEW<\/b><\/span> <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

On an annual basis, approximately 30,000 non-lethal electrical shock incidents are reported in the United States. According to the National Safety Council, electrocution accounts for about 1,000 deaths each year, with more than half of these fatalities occurring during the servicing of energized systems of less than 600 V.<\/p>\n

Electrocution ranks as the fourth major cause of industrial fatalities in the United States, trailing traffic, homicide, and construction accidents. The electrical current needed to light a 7.5 W, 120 V lamp, if directed across the chest, can cause fatal harm. The most harmful paths through the body include the lungs, heart, and brain." The Electrical Safety Training 2021 course aims to enlighten participants about the risks associated with electricity usage. The course content is relevant to a wide range of professionals, including veteran journey people, apprentices, engineers, students, and managers. <\/p>\n

The Electrical Safety Training 2021 course is aligned with current regulations and standards, including the recently revised CSA Z462 – Workplace Electrical Safety and the NFPA 70E – Electrical Safety in the Workplace. <\/p>\n

                  Testing carried out throughout the Electrical Safety Training 2021 course is devised to reinforce the knowledge imparted. A score of 80% is required to earn a certificate of completion. Participants can retake the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved. All necessary supplemental materials for this course can be accessed online.<\/p>\n
