It then empowers workers to confidently and safely conduct surveys for gamma, alpha, and beta radiation and provide the results of NORM surveys to clients accurately.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"title-bar\"> <b>COURSE TOPICS<\/b><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NORM and its sources<\/li>\n<li>Ionizing radiation<\/li>\n<li>Annual effective radiation dose limit in Canada<\/li>\n<li>Operation of the Ludlum 3-97 radiation survey meter<\/li>\n<li>How to perform background radiation tests<\/li>\n<li>How to calculate and convert radiation measurements<\/li>\n<li>Gamma, alpha, and beta radiation surveys<\/li>\n<li>How to provide the results of a NORM survey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"title-bar\"> <b>ONLINE COURSE DURATION<\/b><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Estimated time of completion: 60 minutes<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"title-bar\"> <b>PASS MARK<\/b><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Tests given throughout this online Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) course are devised to fortify the information disseminated. A minimum score of 80% is required to receive a certificate of completion. Participants have the opportunity to retake the course twice if the passing score is not achieved on the initial attempt.
